Five Things That Help The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV Stand Out
May 18 2023,
Following the successful launch of its fully electric three-row EQS SUV, Mercedes-Benz unveils its next electric offering, the 2023 EQE SUV. A compact/midsize luxury SUV that is fully electric, the EQE SUV is a two-row five-seater that is impressively packed with comfort, luxury, and cutting-edge tech. There’s a lot to like about the new 2023 EQE SUV. Here are five in particular.
- Aerodynamic Design
The EQE SUV stands out with its sleek, smooth lines and a low drag coefficient of 0.25. This is achieved by an underside completely covered in aerodynamic cladding, flush door handles, aerodynamic wheels and tires, and a carefully tuned rear for smooth airflow. The design is not only visually appealing but also contributes to the vehicle's overall efficiency.
- Innovative Tech
The EQE SUV boasts two firsts for Mercedes-Benz's EQ family: a disconnect system for the front axle, and a heat pump. The disconnect system allows the front axle to freewheel under light loads and coasting, increasing efficiency by up to six per cent. The heat pump harvests heat from the battery and motors to warm the cabin, further enhancing the vehicle's energy efficiency.
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV also makes the transition to electrification easier with technology such as the MBUX navigation system with Electric Intelligence. This technology helps you better plan your route by taking into account environmental and geographic factors as well as driving habits and road topography to calculate real range information and ensure you can reach your destination. Moreover, the EQE SUV can help you find charging stations along the way and plan your stops for you. Turn-by-turn navigation and automatic lane changing are also offered, while available massaging front seats paired with ventilation and heating provide exceptional comfort.
- Performance and Range
Available in Canada are the EQE 350 4Matic SUV with 288 hp and 564 lb-ft torque, and the EQE 500 4Matic SUV with 402 hp and 633 lb-ft torque. Both models feature a permanently excited synchronous electric motor on each axle, powered by a 90.6-kWh battery. The EQE SUV offers ample range with 407 kilometres. Moreover, charging is easy thanks to the advanced 400-kW architecture. Charging at home takes less than 11 hours, while charging from 10 to 80% requires only 32 minutes.
- Luxurious Interior
The EQE SUV's cabin is a masterclass in design and execution, dominated by a floating centre console and an optional 3D Burmester Dolby Atmos sound system. The EQE SUV also features a 12.8-inch touchscreen display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as standard, with an optional curved Hyperscreen offering three integrated screens for enhanced infotainment.
- Premium, eco-friendly materials
Mercedes-Benz incorporates sustainability into the EQE SUV with carpeting, air vents, and other interior materials made from recycled plastic bottles, carpet, and fishing nets. The chassis bearings are made from natural rubber, and almost forty per cent of metal in the body shell comes from resource-saving secondary sources. The standard Electric Art interior doesn't use any leather at all, although it is available.
The 2023 EQE SUV is an important offering for Mercedes-Benz in the hot premium midsize luxury SUV category. With its remarquable range, impressive technology, and commitment to sustainability, the 2023 EQE SUV delivers everything buyers expect from a Mercedes-Benz product along with impressive charging and all-electric characteristics.
